I absolutely believe in teaching children the value of life and helping them see the wonderful and amazing way God designed us through our unique DNA from the moment of conception. This book, Life Before Birth (by Gary E. Parker M.S. Ed.D.) is an amazing book that I recently discovered and have read to my children. This book talks about the development of a baby in utero and discredits evolutionary views about the subject. It also talks about what is and isn't Down Syndrome and brings up how in the 1800's Dr. Downs (a supposed Evolutionary expert tried to relate Down Syndrome to Evolution, which of course is also debunked. Furthermore, the book also brings up the topic of adoption and abortion but does not go into detail about abortion. I like that it also does not condemn those who have had abortions as the book states the Word of God says, we have all sinned, Romans 3:23 and can be forgiven of these sins if we turn to Him in repentance and God will not cast us out. John 6:7.
As a parent, I want to ensure my children understand the biblical view on these topics at an early age so as they grow and mature in Christ they are able to stand firm against the enemy (the devil) that consistently tries to distort the truth of God's Word and His plan of for us before the beginning of time.
Psalms 139:13-16 NIV
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
