I've always been a huge fan of Jim Korkis' books and his writing style. I can't recommend them enough. This may be the first and only book of his I've ever taken exception to but it wasn't for anything he wrote. There's a section in here where other authors contribute their thoughts towards a topic. Some of them have a writing style I'd compare to pumping the brakes as compared to Jim's smooth flow. It's a bit like Inception when you're reading a book by an author, whose allowing a section for other authors to write, and those authors start quoting other authors and discussing the problems with how those authors wrote a book about other authors who wrote a book about the same topic.
There's a saying in the music industry. "Never let the drummer have the microphone." It was such a relief when that section of the book was over and we returned to Jim's thoughts.
That having been said, no regrets, still a great book and some of the best perspectives have come out of here. I have a friend who's been an animator for Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks and a few other big names. Despites decades of listening to his view of what it's like to work in the industry, sometimes you can read a single paragraph in Jim's book and it encapsulates everything into such a short description. That's how good this book is.
