I finished watching Vincenzo just yesterday and honestly I wasn't sure what I expected when I started. But I have to say it's by far one of the best dramas I've ever watched.
It was the first drama starring Song Joong-Ki that I've seen and he absolutely charmed me.
Besides his character simply being written as charismatic and attractive Joong-Ki absolutely nails the part. He portrays Vincenzo's confidence and charisma so naturally, it's amazing to watch. His voice makes his character come together and the way he speaks Italian in the series just adds to the endless list of compliments you can give him.
He is not only attractive but also a very skilled actor, the scenes where he portrays anger or sadness are more than great.
The plot of Vincenzo is really amazing, everything slowly comes together, the side characters have their own stories which makes every scenes that much more impactful. There's plenty of plot twists, drama, and character development.
It's a kind of drama that makes you squeal and giggle like a little girl at some parts, sit in anticipation throughout the whole experience and then cry at the few angsty scenes that honestly even though heartbreaking make the whole experience even better.
It doesn't have a cliche love triangle and it's not sorely focused on romance. When it finally appears it's beautifully subtle.
I gotta say at the beginning I found some of the side characters annoying since you could see the scenes with them were written sorely for the purpose of comedic relief and to be completely honest they weren't that funny. Deeper into the drama though they really grew on me and the relationships created between them and the main characters were vital to the story.
Overall Vincenzo is a drama about fighting evil with evil, getting rid of the corrupted rich people in power. It shows how sometimes criminals don't equal bad people, it's all about the intent and morals.
Definitely use your free time to look into this drama I doubt you will regret it.
