Rotten tomatoes reviewers are smoking something... This movie is excellent, the casting is perfect, and, even with a pg-13 rating designed to enable the fans too young to have played the original games to fill the theater, delivers engaging atmospheric storytelling that faithfully checks all of the boxes for longtime fans without making it obtuse for first time viewers. It's opening beat Oppenheimer. Watch the movie if only to enjoy a classic spooky Mathew Lillard performance and Josh Hutchinson in tight jeans.
