Whaaaat? I thought I was in the wrong theater because it is billed as a comedy. It is mostly about horrible, extremely explicit violence instead. Scene after scene of unadulterated gore, blood and brains exploding, throughout. This is supposed to be funny? Save your money!!! What little touchy feely lessons there are on a human level are monstrously overshadowed. Terrible.

Incredible! Have seen this amazing movie many times and each time it gets better! The superb acting, directing, scenery, pace, suspense, and thrilling music, are quite the experience. Also, the deep message at the end with Hopkins’ piercing blue eyes delivering it makes for a memorable, stop-and-think moment. It is the perfect film, sublime in every way. They should have received all kinds of awards! (BTW, I found Ebert’s review sadly shallow, snobby, and ridiculous.)

Brilliant film, beginning to end, displays incredible talent and exacting attention to complicated issues such as self worth. A must-see!
