i genuinely wish i could leave this with no stars to emphasize how awful of a film this is. it was mind-numbing, drawn-out, confusing, and just downright silly. this is my first ever review of a movie, and i genuinely don't find enjoyment in the tearing down of someones work but this movie is just a complete waste of your time. if you were a thirteen year old boy, i might recommend this movie to you but anyone over that age... just don't bother. there is genuinely no setup for this movie. how did the zombies get there? how did the characters get there? there were so many plotholes and it was obvious even if you aren't a writer or anything of the sort. the action and gore/effects in this movie were good, however, they were clearly put on a pedestal over the actual character development and plot. there was so much gore, that even me, someone terrified of gore, grew bored of it. there were several moments i found myself slapping my forehead at some of the events in the story and saying, "whyyy?" the way that the characters interacted with each other felt cheap and rushed. the only character i truly enjoyed was lily. the rest of them spoke cheap and had little to no personality except for a single stereotype. there was a bit of romance in this movie but, oh my, was it hilariously ridiculous. it seriously came out of nowhere and lasted about a minute or so. although this movie was just god awful, i would recommend watching it if you're looking for a laugh. not because the writing was funny, but because some of it was just so ridiculously funny. i found myself laughing at the mechanics of things, the events, and some of the insane plotlines. (spoiler: aka, the zombie king ripping the fetus of his zombie queens baby out of her dead bodies stomach?) don't watch it.
