I thought it was great and I’m ready for the sequel. It shocks me that the masses dumped all over it. I usually have good taste and want to second guess myself but I’m sorry, I thought it was awesome.
The lore was there, there were patterns and “Easter eggs” the actors did amazing and it was great to see old and new faces. I think we really lucked out. This movie was so easy to mess up due to the campy material and cheesiness. But they didn’t.
This is such a unique addition to the horror and thriller genre and with the mix of nostalgia and complexity of its characters, it was just *chef’s kiss*.
I really don’t understand the hate train. Maybe it wasn’t a gory enough for some people? But I’d rather have substance than gore. I’m nervous that the ratings will prevent a sequel. Let’s hope not. 😉
