I hate to be ‘that guy’ but if you enjoyed the book, don’t expect to enjoy the movie.
Major events in the book are reduced to minor, sporadic scenes, losing most of their weight. The movie substitutes a lot of the novel’s heart for new action sequences and cheap pulp.
So, for the folks that loved the book, you will probably be let down if you can’t separate the two.
That said, the group I watched with did enjoy the movie quite a lot - and I held my tongue and didn’t try to spoil their good time with reasons why “the book is so much better.”
