Seven of us saw this movie together; three adults & four children all of widely varying ages (8 to 69). We all liked this movie a lot. It may not have been The Nutcracker ballet we had expected, but it was an entertaining fantasy movie based on a familiar story. The costumes & cinematography were beautiful. The acting was good & enjoyable. The death & grieving were done well enough for the eight & ten year olds to understand, without being too realistic to be scary for them. I loved Misty Copeland's ballet & glad Disney included that nod to the original, but was perfectly happy with having a new version of this story to add to my Christmas collection. I will be buying the DVD when it becomes available.
