The entire Max universe is worthy of viewing more than once. Rich blend of dystopia, environment, social relations, the human condition. Protect the green it screams, lest it become a wasteland!

A history that many experienced. The 60's "Great Awakening", that went farther by challenging the status quo, though we must remember the sham tele-evangelists, and the countless sects and cults that were spawned at a crucible of change in America and elsewhere. Likable and fragile characters that serve as mirrors for those professing faith, as well as proclaiming toleration, pointing to the spiritual thirst or absence in our all-too materialistic present.

The story and themes merit viewing this film. Convincing, visually pleasing!

In the 1984 context, this must be appreciated as a significant film, despite the weaknesses.
