Jimmy Stewart and Richard Conte were great. It was a fascinating look at the justice system and Stateville prison. It showed Stateville when it was relatively new and still was using the rounded dome cell blocks like the notorious F house. In one scene, Jimmy Stewart visits one of those rounded cellblocks to talk with Richard Conte and there's absolute quiet. About 35 years later , a Sean Penn movie filmed a scene in one of those round cellblocks at Stateville and it was chaos, times change. This movie is excellent and well worth seeing.
