I give the series a 2 star rating just for its concept, cinematography
Otherwise this series just runs flat , boring and many times illogical. There were far many loopholes and shortcomings to a point I had to yell kya ho raha hai yaar . * spoiler alert *
1. The 1st episode was able to nicely grab your attention and build anticipation all because of Dr. Singh (Mona Singh) and her charisma. She was on to something interesting and it was intriguing to see her but soon she freaking dies!!! Sure she is a boss independent lady BUT who the f goes to an island alone at night for inspection and tries to climb a steep hill in poring rain with a prosthetic leg ??? Aaaa girl didn’t you bring a phone along , wouldn’t it be logical to go alert the authorities first ???
2. The whole show had unnecessary flashbacks, predictable plots and flat falling and forceful humour and dialogues. There were also some major loopholes like hey didn’t Dr. Gagra inform the mainland about the epidemic ? Why was there no intervention ?
3. I fail to understand how the writers forget to take pointers from THE COVID PANDEMIC . It was senseless to not have the public know of the potential fatal disease in the initial stages just to create unnecessary chaos . Secondly, Dr Gagra came into the play as a researcher and yet she is somehow forced to serve as a doctor in the hospital coz it’s short staffed even though she repeated stated that she might have a lead with the cure . Excuse me , hello … imagine the Catastrophe if the covid researchers were forced to work as doctors instead of finding the vaccines and antibiotics. How obviously foolish .
4. The Orakas the indigenous tribe was portrayed rather beautifully but there were still some needless scenes with forceful emotions shown. Also some scenes enraged me about how people in high authorities come to a inhumane decision to put the harmless innocent protected people at risk so much as to wipe out the whole community.
5. The second last episodes brought us to the climax and things were finally falling into places and I was ready to see some line of action in the final episode with it ending happily. But of course writers had to kill Jyotsna who by the way was killed just before she could convey the coordinates of the island with curative plant to Dr. Gagra, put an infected child in the rescue boat headed for the safe island and so forth and so on with endless needless plot . See you not in the next season
All things considered I found it really hard to connect with the story and the characters… 7 episodes of pure frustration!
