AGREE with other reviewers that the film is a bit long; however, as i grew up during the "troubled 1960's", lol, it held my interest. NOT 100% accurate historically, of course, but - what Hollywood film is?, lolol

As one critic stated: "It doesn't get better than this!," i must apply that critique to this film...If one enjoys a sentimental tear-jerker, and that person marvels at the great acting of Ronald Colman and Greer Garson, both of whom obtained the Academy Award for other films, plus is spellbound by the direction of Mervyn Le Roy, than this is the film to see! {YOU may recall another of LeRoy's productions - The Wizard of Oz ? -} Every time this shows up on TCM, i drop what i am doing to watch it! -Rich Freeman-
