I watched this movie when I was nine for my birthday, and I remember being a bit nervous for a war movie. However, the journey and the horse and the realistic depiction of WWI was moving. Very accurate for cavalry to be use against modern weapons like German machine guns and the horrid trench warfare was shown through the soldier's eyes.The emotional aspects made me cry of course, especially when seeing how the war effected people in the countryside, not just solders. This movie holds a special place and I love it then and now.

There's nothing I can think of to critique this show. It was just a good revenge story with a good message and good main characters. The opening is amazing too. It's got a story, some comedy, action, and hits in the heart. Romance would have ruined the anime, so that was a good thing to leave out. Even the comedy had it's moments where it wasn't forced but did enough to lift the mood. Very underrated, so it deserves a chance to be watched.
