The supporting cast all leave a lasting impression for their short screen time especially Jurgen Pronchnow with the infamous Das Boot reference thrown in for good measure A story of love, sacrifice and compromise paced very well. The veteran who wants to say goodbye to his friend and comrade one last time will rest in the hearts of all who watch this gem. Keep your hanky ready, you’ll need it for this ride Don’t look for the imperfections, we’ve become used to that cynicism in our daily lives. Enjoy this with your loved ones. The bagpipe finale is a beautiful celebration of a great life that’s coming to an end as all things must come to pass…….thank God for the magic of cinema and the rich tapestry of emotions captured
