8 year player of the game here. The game is in a very bad state right now, my suggestion is to not play it at the moment until the progression and research is fixed. These two factors are key for enjoying the game. Recently the game publisher, Gaijin, has made very questionable changes regarding economy. Since then, researching and progressing the game has been a nightmare. You will NOT enjoy this game, especially as a new player. These changes were made in order to sell premium vehicles the COST OF TRIPLE A GAMES. This game may be FREE, but in order to have fun and unlock your favourite vehicles in a reasonable amount of time, you MUST SPEND.
