While growing up in 90s, I was not fond of Urmila Matondkar as an actress. But as an adult in 30s, I feel she was one of the most talented and versatile actress of 90s. Urmila's acting in this movie is incomparable to anyone - her portrayl of a psycho, obsessive lover is justified with every passing minute in the movie - the movie and her acting was way ahead of its time. Also to mention Fardeen Khan's acting in his initial career was great. I never imagined him playing the role of a man who is entangled in the love of a psycho girl. Urmila won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for this movie but she deserved the National Award for this role. I do not think today's Kareena, Deepika or Priyanka could have played this role - then and even now.
