I'm actually surprised people gave "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House" the review and ratings it actually deserved, but chose to hype this movie up. They're basically the same thing except this movie is moreso of a cultural documentary about vikings, with what I could only assume was an underlying plot.
It's only at the very end of the movie, can you make the solid criticism that the movie was intended for people who have an existing knowledge or appreciation for one or multiple of the following, 1.Hamlet, 2.Shakespearean language and 3. A deep understanding for viking lore, customs, traditions and generally their heritage.
Honestly an unfortunate waste of time. I mean, sure, I like movies that you could delve into and interpret some aspects of it, but the entire thing felt like I was watching some sort of abstract painting. I could see why people called it a work of art. Would you consider shakespeare art? Sure. Did you intend on watching 2hours of shakespeare? Probably not.
Hard pass for me.
