Wonka didn't really align with Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, even though it seems to be a prequel. Story wise about the oompa loompas, it is definitely off. Where's his dad? I know that part wasn't as important, but still. Things like his hair and personality are different, but that makes sense. He can straighten his hair and people can change as time goes on. Also, we never see that shop Charlie's grandpa works at in Tim's movie. It sort of rushes to the factory after his first shop doesn't work out. Isn't the shop supposed to come before any factory, but still later on? Same with the oompa loompas! The timelines do not align. I can't accept Wonka as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's prequel, but I can say it is a FANTASTIC standalone movie.
