What a waste of time. So disappointing too because the cast was excellent. Regarding the cast, if you are going to include a deaf character, please actually be respectful of deaf culture and cast a deaf actor. This was incredibly inconsistent and it was impossible to follow what was going on with the bat things—what was with the random egg laying? Why were the inconsistently responsive to sound? The only part of the film that was actually scary was the creepy cult folks who were interested in young, fertile women. There are better horror or thriller films—watch those. This film felt like a failed attempt to recreate a bizarre combination of: A Quiet Place, Birdbox, and Alien.
