Absolutely could not put this book down. The actual letters from Eliza and the detail of the area and historical events captivated me as I grew up in South Carolina and studied SC history. Now I must delve further into this remarkable woman and her effect on the early history of our nation. How many women in the country could boast having George Washington as her pallbearer? Fascinating!
