A dull re-creation of what was a truly extraordinary piece of reporting. The cast seemed pretty uninspired as well. Disappointing, with such powerful source material I would have expected much better. Wasted opportunity.

Absolutely no atmosphere, dull and clunky script, are people really as boring and irritating as this ill natured, phone obsessed crew? Very poor in all respects. And where was the sunshine!

Disappointing, almost a documentary. The lead character lacked depth, it was difficult to feel much for someone about whom we were told so little? As for hidden depths, just keep looking. Numerous mistakes in boat handling, sleeping under sail for instance. Laughable repair job. Rigging the liferaft to a sinking boat. Must have many nautical types rolling in the aisles, or grinding teeth in frustration at thee man's incompetence. In summary, dull and predictable. Certainly not Redford's best by any means. But, to be fair, he had nothing to do other than look miserable,and get very wet .

Every scene in this wonderful film carries powerful messages, with or without dialogue. Simply a masterpiece.

Creative and beautifully paced, wonderful production.
