Kevin Beam

Characters were boring and the writing was terrible. Didn't really care for anyone in this film. Seemed like it tried to dive deep into race relations in America but turned shallow and pretentious quickly. Another flop for lazy millennial writing.

They should've named this movie "Josephine." The entire movie centered around her and she had to be the most boring, uninteresting character on set. If you are expecting a historical piece or intense combat and military scenes you will get one in the beginning for about ten minutes, and one at the end for ten minutes. Joaquin Pheonix was fantastic. Otherwise this movie was boring, uninteresting, and taught me nothing about napoleon or the napoleanic wars that I didn't learn in 8th grade. Solid 1 for this heaping pile of trash.
