It has all the components of a page turner. It is about passion....for art, lust and allows the reader to delve into the process of creating art that evokes mystery, intrigue and emotion. The author makes us see it through the artist's life experiences and shows the soul of the artist. The mystery of the subject evokes the story of the Helga painting by Andrew Wyeth . In this story the background and the impetus of the creation is revealed, but in such a way that we are driven as the reader to know the individuals and their futures. Arthur Hitner's way with prose is a flow of completely entertaining word play and he is an excellent character developer. Even though we do not meet all of the characters, such as the artist's wife, we understand her and somehow paint a portrait in our mind's of her.
