I’m quite surprised this show has so much amazing feedback. In my opinion, it was disappointing. To start, the female lead didn’t fit her roll at all. She didn’t do a great job at acting. Her actions were either over dramatic, or just average. She gave off no impression of being a high schooler. Her character was way underdeveloped, in fact they never actually hinted at her ability to draw until way later in the show. In addition, the whole show just seemed so childish. They also left so many details and scenes that made the Chinese ver. suspenseful and interesting, out of this show. So much so, we didn’t even see a real brawl between the swimmer and his father. I also felt this show lacked chemistry. Neither actors went over and above to make it seem like the love was real. It was like watching four dolls play school. You know? Like they said they love each other and stuff too but never really showed it in their acting either. Furthermore, the actors never gave me a relatable sense of being a high schooler either. It was all so cheesy to the point where I couldn’t even take the male lead being a doctor seriously. I just don’t think the actors were right for the roles. Putting the fact aside that this is a remake again, there was so little detail, thrill, or complexity to the plot. Again, it feels like dolls playing school and I wouldn’t say is deserving of 5 stars. Simply an OK show.
