Profoundly moved upon completion of Rectify. For 29 episodes I became deeply entrenched in the world of Daniel Holden and the masterfully crafted characters that compose his journey towards meaning. During the 30th and final episode, the culmination of four seasons of interpersonal relationship development, set atop a harrowing backdrop, evoked feelings within myself that I did not know existed. The characters and remote setting, despite being completely removed from anything I have experienced in my life, caused me to reconsider the fabric of my own relationships and challenged my deeply-held beliefs on purpose. I will think about Daniel Holden for a long time. But each character brings a wrinkle to a community that is struck by tragedy and as every moment in the story unfolds, individuals are challenged to react in ways that are completely unique to their human experience. This story is beautiful and I believe will challenge any individual to look within themselves through the lens of these characters.
