As a WWII history buff, this movie depicts the battlefield of the Atlantic from an engaging perspective of the enormous value that came from our merchant marine captains, their ships, and crews. It is fast paced with amazing shots of our ships at sea during a time when crossing the ocean was just as perilous as any other WWII movie was on the ground. Its a perspective we all should be aware of. Tom Hanks and his co stars put on a show that will leave you breathless until its end, even in the non verbal looks given from brave men doing an important and necessary job to help win the war. I came away with a new perspective about just how much our merchant marines contributed to a worthy cause. Just like In Castaway; Hanks doesn’t have to open his mouth to make you believe what goes into the drive for survival at any cost.
