The good:
- Really good acting and visuals.
- It's a proper horror movie, even horror buffs will squirm. The death scenes are drawn out and the movie keeps you on edge the whole way through
- nice creature
The bad:
- the plot is driven forward by a series of back-to-back worst case scenarios + terrible decisions. After the 3rd or so it gets tiring and stops being believable
- because the plot is moved forward by this series of 7 or 8 worst case scenarios, the ending becomes very predictable (as it is itself a worst case scenario)
- the series of negative coincidences takes away all meaning in what is happening. Because the events are all so unlikely it doesn't feel like anyone deserves the bad things that are happening or that they are happening for a reason. It all culminates in an ending that just feels dissatisfying and cheap to me
