Maia Wilson

This series was perfect! I didn't know I would be so captivated by a show about a chess player. But the writing, the acting, the set design, having the show set in the 60's and the directing was just magnificent! Anya Taylor-Joy proves once again, that she can steal a scene in whatever she is in. I know this is just a limited series and I think it should stay that way, this show ended perfectly and I feel we got a great story from Beth Harmon.

Good movie, I look forward to a Part 2 if they decide to make one.

It felt so rushed. We made no personal connection to any of the characters, even with Mulan, and we spend the most time with her. Nothing she does feels earned, it just seems like she already knows whatever she needs to at that moment. The sets felt fake and too clean, like people didn't actually live there. A lot of the CGI/Green screen was so clearly evident. The entire movie was in English, like 100% of it, and that also took me out of the movie in a way. I think of movies like Black Panther or Crazy Rich Asians, they at least had sections of the movie where they were speaking in the language of their region. I just kept thinking in my mind, "they would be not speaking English during this time." I guess my favorite would be the witch, but even with her she got a weird ending, which was not supposed to be funny, but we laughed. Disappointed because the trailer was so good and now I feel I wasted $30 on DisneyPlus.
