Wow. Just wow. I watched this movie because I thought it would be a trashy cash grab. The trailer for the movie was itself a masterful piece of performance art on behalf of Leto et al. They set you up to fool you into THINKING this is just a ripoff of Dracula. Nothing could be further from the truth. I don't want to go into detail about the plot, because it would be a cardinal sin to even slightly spoil what can only be called TRUE art, but what I will say is this: "Morbius" has the soul of a Tarantino film, the intrigue of Nolan film, the depth of a film by Stanley Kubrick, stylistic direction on par with (if not surpassing) the lord of the rings trilogy, emotional depth matched only by Schindlers list, and amazingly manages to integrate "truth-to-power" comedy in a way that would put Carlin himself to shame. I went into the theatre bored, and I left with a renewed sense of purpose. "Morbius" isn't what America deserves, but it's truly what we need.
