Sometimes the plot bogs down/can be repetitive. Sometimes people are conveniently written out without a trace because they no longer service the plot, when in "real life" the problems they represent would be longer and messier to resolve. The primary protagonists too easily fall out of legal and/or financial trouble. You will wonder at the lax security practiced by the NSA, which allows multiple characters almost entirely unfettered access to sensitive facilities and secretive research. And so on.
But, if you can let those things slide, you will be treated to one heck of a story!
