Overall, I didn't like Vice as much as I wanted, no matter how hard I tried, even with high points. The acting is good but outside the Cheney family, it seems McKay used popular choices VS the better portrayal. The writing is also so-so and feels a bit sloppy and very rushed at times.
I will say, I have no idea why anyone suckered into politics would be irritated or upset with this movie... it's a biopic and supposed to be outrageous, not real accurate and funny. Vice, definitely hits those notes.
However, my single biggest issue with this movie is the fact it's a biopic about Dick Cheney and it's just not that interesting of a subject. No matter how over the top and comedic you get. Oliver Stones, "W", should have stopped biopics on boring subjects even with all the GW fodder out there.
Nevertheless, worth watching, not so sure about the buying part. Wait for HBO or Netflix.
