This just didn't feel like a Marvel movie to me. This movie honestly felt like I was watching a DC Film. No offense to the DCEU, but their movies have a reputation of being dark and occasionally cringy. I enjoy Marvel movies, and I have for a long time because the movies have always captured my attention through character development and overall plot likeness. However, in this film, there were moments when it was really hard to watch and enjoy the journey of the plot because of the gory deaths and occasional weird sequences that were supposed to be cool and funny but turned out to be cringy. My main gripe with this movie is Wanda/The Scarlet Witch. Marvel has always done a fantastic job handling character development, but with this project, they dropped the ball. Between the events of WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there was no character development attempted to shed light on the struggle Wanda was going through that was very very briefly touched on was Professor Xavier went into her mind. If Marvel had prepared us for this struggle it would have made sense. Instead of just showing us that she clearly lost her mental battle with the scarlet witch. When the movie began she became instantly evil because it was her who sent those monsters after Defender Strange and America, to begin with. All in all, it was disappointing because of the dark visuals that the movie could have done without and the lazy character development that was not provided for such a compelling character like Wanda. Thank you.
