The most addictive show I have seen. OH the Sultan playd by Halit Ergenc ! he is so handsome ! the chemistry between him and Hurrem is so powerful that they are hopelessly in love with each other, but the Sultan is more in love with her than she is with him some times. But what i cannot accept is his flirting with a young girl like Nazenin and getting a child at that age ! if he was so devoted, he should have stayed that way. Hurrem till 100th episode was great. the second Hurrem doesnt have that spark and hence he show for me was sagging. Also the romance was dying, hence it all became a bloodthirsty war. Bali Bey the handsome heartbreaker, sincere and loyal to the Sultan, deserves a big hand . Mihirimah is the best. The way she ousted her aunts , especially Sah Huban was the best. Every sister of the Sultan barring Beyhan has been a viper and Fatma had to appear at the end ! The Sultan though a world emperor, cannot rule over his harem , palace and petty crime within his territory ! He is also emotionally weak and tends to take rash decisions. After Ibrahim was gone , the grip was gone in the administration. Mustafa is a very nice person, totally screwed up by the women around him , a victim of circumstances. Mehmet was so handsome and nice ,, the crying baby Mahidevran killed him, only to lose her son too ! But every character has been played so well by the actors, If it was a US serial , then some thousand PR would have happened to propagate it even more. the costumes, jewellery, casting everything deserves several awards. And oh boy. The Turkish men and women are so handsome and beautiful. !

Its a wonderful show. The contrast between the old school and the new school of music has been juxtaposed very well. the need to strive for excellence and rise above mediocrity has been brought out nicely. the old school is strenuous and imposed the new school is self realising and a little shaky. the old and the new have to co-exist , by taking the good ones from both. Talent can definitley be honed best in the old school format for it to be everlasting. that has been brought out so well. If modern boys are like Radhe', this country will have fabulous citizens. Even ustads have chinks in their armour and the youngsters are so self reliant and straight. Superb. Wonderful khayaals and tumris. Want to see season 2 and more.
