This is just a bad movie. That's the review that's it!
On a serious note, I read the reviews for this movie before watching it, and most seemed positive which only added to the disappointment later on. Furthermore, reviewers are just thrilled by the fact that it's not a Marvel movie but this absolute joke of a movie does get a pass for that reason alone. I'm writing this review so others don't have to go through the agony!
Spoilers ahead, but who cares hopefully you guys aren't going to watch it anyway!
Where should I even begin? The story is set in the 1700s and it follows a Native American teenage girl who is determined to prove that she is a talented hunter. (which she is not)
The portrayal of a female lead is shown to have no redeeming qualities that would make you root for her and continues to make terrible decisions throughout the movie. What annoys me here is that even with all her faults she somehow someway manages to kill a technologically advanced alien in the Predator.
Ironically, the male hunters were shown to be talented but against the Predator, they did not even put up a fight and were annihilated quite effortlessly.
It also seemed like they nerfed the Predator in this movie a lot. It seemed rather stupid for an intergalactic alien! It blindly ran into primitive and obvious traps. There was a lot of inconsistency in the representation of its strength.
This movie gave me headaches and was so far off the original that words cannot even begin to describe it!
