To be honest, I am still in the middle of the movie. But I’ve gathered enough information on my movie to know my opinion on it.
First of all, this is supposed to be a MOVIE, not a MUSICAL. Every 5 minutes a character breaks out into a full song which lasts for about 3 minutes each. The plot is all over the place too. The movie starts with a plot, adds a song, changes to a completely different plot, adds a song, and so on. I’ve only been watching for about 45 minutes and there’s already been about 10 or more songs. During those 45 or so minutes I have pet my cat, played with slime, been on a different device and went to the kitchen for 20 minutes to get a snack. As you can see, I definitely didn’t connect to the so-called “movie” as much as I did with the first one. I was confused for half of the time I spent watching, because suddenly their town has a party, Elsa and Anna are toddlers and time-lapse to adults, some sort of enchanted forest is involved, it’s very confusing.
Everyone, including teachers, have told me that the movie is incredible. To me it seems boring, confusing and put together at the last second. They had 7 years to put together a sequel and this is what they came out with? Awful. I feel like they had no idea how to connect the “brilliant” scenes so they decided to plop a ten-hour cheesy song to fill the gap. If you can’t connect the scenes, then start with one scene and add a song, add a scene that makes sense, add another scene, add a song, and so on. Build your scene along the way! Don’t think of random ideas that somehow match the story and decide “kids will be stunned by the songs, so they won’t care.” Kids are much less stupid then that and won’t just be entertained by pretty songs. Plus, parents and friends are watching with kids too - and their the ones writing the reviews. If you want good reviews, make a good movie. I wouldn’t mind if you take another year - you already snatched the hope of a sequel from people. Believe it or not, people aren’t going to expect a sequel after 7 years. I didn’t enjoy what I watched and I’m not interested in watching the rest. Which means I DEFINITELY won’t be watching the third movie - if it doesn’t take another 10 years to come out. Waste of my time, I’d rather watch Home Alone 3. That’s right, I’d rather watch a completely different kid with a different situation then the first two movies. It’s obviously better then this unorganized, boring musical that apparently took SEVEN YEARS to come out.
