Incredible. I love how all the characters we met in the first book developed. I grew more attached and admiring of all our protagonists, and at times at had to put the book down when I got too invested and emotionally drained so to speak, but that's a complement! I'm really tired of cynical grimdark. This book exemplifies what an epic fantasy series should be, without ever being preachy. Just like Way of Kings, when I got to the last hundred pages or so I couldn't put it down and stayed up late into the night to finish it. Five out of five
