Very brilliant for first half Very well written , you can not take your eyes But slowly books start to get more and more stupid. The moment they leave Kabul book starts getting bad. And it comes down to worst till ending . Only good character written is father of lead guy will recommend reading for honourable and brave personality he is shown. And they have made all characters irrelevant with bad ending of all of them.

Mix of good and bad writing Undoubtedly worth reading!! You will come through many great chapters in book Specially after war is over you are into book deeply, Also the way Krishn ji and his relationship with Draupdi is shown. Similarly bad things about book can be pointed out. I will point out Major one It is Mahabharata rewritten with obviously some wrong facts and one of them was hurdle in reading experience It was relation of Karna and Draupdi which wasn’t necessary and made the story irritating and targeted character of Panchaali. Surely wasn’t a good feminist perspective if the writer wrote it from feminist point of view. But book is worth reading .

Great Novel !! It's about division of India . From starting we are taught history of freedom fighters. What Mahatma Gandhi , Neta ji , Pandit ji or Jinnah did . What were they doing during independence ? ( Major events) But, this books shows you whole of a different perspective. What actually was happening on ground level, in villages , what people were facing ,ideas of general public about independence and their struggle. Story mainly revolve around three characters Jugaat Singh , Iqbal Singh and Hukum Chand. How they tried to cool down communal hatred increasing in a village. Story built up is great !! It's just a part, book is more than this. Don't think twice before reading it !! For those who are saying ending is incomplete. Writer haven't told what happened to Juggat? You need to read few more of good writers. The person described at last page ( person who cuts rope ) Same image is described earlier in book ( read book again from starting) And you'll know ending is not incomplete. Thank you
