Somehow, I didn't enjoy this book as much as most others, reading the reviews. It was a *good* book. It just wasn't that great.
Things I couldn't quite get over were: The setting changed frequently; one chapter I'm reading about is four months ahead of the one preceding. And it's pretty confusing that way, sometimes I don't quite catch the change and I things start to get confusing pretty fast.
Another thing I didn't enjoy about it was: It was not realistic. A girl disappearing without anyone noticing. ANYONE. Besides Monday, the main character. And finding out that somebody's dyslexic when they're in 8th grade just doesn't happen.
Not to mention -- it just wasn't that different. The plot was very simple, and I just didn't quite anticipate anything to happen, things seemed almost random.
But if you're able to get over those hurdles, there are things to like about the story. The first thing I liked was the black culture, which isn't seemed very often in ya books. I also liked the relatableness to the characters, and for the most part, I cared about them.
Overall, I think it is an okay book -- you should read it, but it's not very complex or outstanding.
