I am so tired of watching couples trying to dance to inappropriate music. Apart from having 4 beats in a bar, how can anyone imagine that Eleanor Rigby could possibly be suitable for a tango? It was an insult to the dancers who were clearly dancing regardless of the music and therefore at a disadvantage and the passion that should be in the dance was not in evidence. It was an insult to the Beatles and their fans that a very clever song that is a story of everyday life in Liverpool should have been made upbeat and forced to fit a totally inappropriate dance from a different continent. This travesty was then compounded when the music for the Paso Doble was perfectly matched to the dance and gave an advantage. If the music doesn’t suit the dance, it does not come across well on screen.
Please BBC put suitable music to the dances. It is best for the dancers and the viewers.
