Hmm, seems like a good piece of production if you ask me. Evidently this smooth operator played his diabolical cards with great efficiency. He new the law well enough to serve only five months in jail. He played every legal loophole available perfectly. There's a special place in hell for people like this but the spirit of this world loves their own. Truth be told, this game is as ancient as the wind itself and usually it's the good guy who gets burned like this...a dime a dozen. I guess this is just the female version of gettin' fleeced. I'd love to see this guy try and pull this off on some nice Latino or Italian sisters with large families in NYC. Trust me, it wouldn't go well for him. He'd like disappear in heartbeat. Wink, wink.

Alastair Sim's performance is beyond compare in this version of Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol. No other actor demonstrates with such ease the contrast between a protagonist with a heart of stone and a truly repented man who is completely born again anew in heart and soul.
