2.5 stars
I'm very distracted by fake accents and Michael C. Hall's British accent is very distracting.
I'm only half way through the show, not sure I'll finish it. In addition to the accent, the story is stupid.
The first plot line is Michael C. Hall, MD searching for his daughter and her boyfriend. They're MIA. Kidnapped? Run aways? They don't know. He's knocking on doors, interviewing neighbors, looking at cameras, tracking nightclub bouncers...
He is a widower with two daughters. The plot would have been better if there was no second daughter, because he's out all night trying to track down the missing daughter and they never address where the younger one is or if she's home alone, etc.
The second plot is Michael C. Hall's missing daughter's classmate, Sia. Sia is a wealthy popular girl, previously in trouble for selling drugs so she & her parents complicate and botch the investigation into the missing couple with dad jokes and general incompatence. Think "Weekend at Bernie's" meets some stupid dad joke show.
Third subplot is a married but separated police officer who is dating Michael C. Hall. Not helping much with his missing daughter. She is teamed up with a new police officer, who the locals are suspicious of because she's young, pretty & from the city. They get assigned to investigate a high school teacher suspected of pedophilia without really any proof. Plot twist - the teacher is also the missing girl's boyfriend's mother.
Oddly, all of the main female characters have bangs. Both police officers and the French teacher. Are there that many bangs in England? They're as distracting as the bad accent.
Even the theme song is odd - reminiscent of True Blood but with the "ting ting" refrain.
Not sure how everything is going to come together, not sure if I even care enough to finish it.
If there's an exciting come-together point, I'll edit this review, but for now, it's not great.

Fished the show, it remained stupid.
Lots of B&E and trespassing to try & find Michael C Hall's daughter. They explain where the younger daughter is - sort of shacking up with the new girl friend/lead detective's ex husband and daughter.
Even with family emergencies, they keep her and bring her to the hospital. Michael C Hall stops by the house to question the girlfriend's son, but leaves without checking on his child.
The French woman confesses something really dreadful and criminal to her husband, in front of Michael C Hall, and gives him details about it too.
There's a mysterious neighbor who ends up dead, and an evil nightclub owner too.
I guess I'd give it three stars, because I finished it, but it's implausible and makes you laugh, as opposed to being a thriller.
I'm sure that the producers didn't intend anyone to laugh. Remember the last time we saw Michael C Hall? In the finale of Dexter. Everyone complained that the finale ruined the whole series?
This is kind of like that.... really dumb but a bit entertaining because it makes you groan.
