Since being a Pokemon fan since I was very young and loving the franchise, I had high hopes for this game. Unfortunately, after leaks for the starters evolutions dropped and I saw how unappealing they were I was very disappointed like many other fans. I wasn't too concerned about the national dex not being included, but I can understand why people are upset especially since we found out that Gamefreak lied about multiple things about improvements to the franchise. When they claimed they were moving Pokemon main series games to the switch I was really hoping they would take the change to make many improvements like they claimed they would, but that was not the case. I would also like to note that every legendary box art Pokemon has appealed or excited me in some way, but the main legendary box art pokemon for this game just seems dull to me. I have purchased the game and have only defeated a few gyms, I'm honestly glad they brought a return to the gyms, but I am disappointed that there is not a way to turn off exp share for players who want a more difficult challenge. It's also really annoying that hop appears constantly sometimes to not even battle. I'm sure more fans want rivals like Silver and more importantly a better plot to the story. I have enjoyed the game in some ways, and it can be fun for casual players and for young players. I sincerely hope that for the future games Game freak will fix all this issues and give the fans what they want in a pokemon game.
