I picked this book at a time when I needed a light read to fill my heart and mind during a heavy read like Half of a yellow Sun and I am glad I did.
This is a story of two young, dreamy and passionate young lovers, Roya and Bahman, in a politically unstable Iran of 50’s.
It is a chance circumstance which brings them together, however fate was not to be!
Its a bittersweet story, offering varied emotions from love, care, anger, irritation to heartbreak. Is it the best in this genre? Don’t think so.
However you can relate to the shocking violent political eruptions happening in the background with our present times. Also you may see glimpses of similarity / common beliefs between India and Iran and can’t help but wonder how two distinct and different countries miles apart still holds common beliefs.
You may pick this up for simple, light hearted read. My rating 3.5⭐️
