This is the perfect book for those who enjoy Shakespeare. Early on Rio writes, in almost prophetic fashion fit for a Shakespearean tragedy, “Far too many times I had asked myself whether art was imitating life or if it was the other way around”, meaning and reality is fragmented and braided much like the quotes and plays Rio weaves in character dialogue and throughout the narrative. Where this book fails to sustain mystery, readers are compensated, no rewarded, with a cathartic experience of emotional recognition. Like Shakespeare’s plays, this is a book you can re-read again, each time bringing to the pages a different perspective and understanding of the characters.
