Kee McFarlane was embarrassingly and laughingly discredited, revealed to be unlicensed, unqualified, and deviously unscrupulous during the McMartin trial. These facts were exposed by the McMartin family's brilliant defense attorney, Daniel Davis, who was exquisitely portrayed by James Woods in the 1995 biopic movie. MacFarlane was not only NOT a licensed Social Worker, her only knowledge about the profession came from a Liberal Studies degree in college and, by her own admission, from her personal book collection, whether written by credible authors or not. How in the WORLD she ever got the position she held at CII, let alone her positions today, is as big a mystery as how the farce of the McMartin trial ever even came to be. She is certainly not even CLOSE to being qualified to author books on the subject, especially not in 1986 in the middle of this trial. I suspect she wrote this book to gain personal clout, or for bragging rights. This woman is as shady and ridiculous as the radical, witch-hunting PA on this case, Lael Rubin (both these women were unethically, secretly engaging in sexual relations with men at the time of the trial that would have constituted major conflicts of interest).
"Then a fanatical unlicensed “counselor,” Kee MacFarlane got involved and used her sessions to coerce children into making false accusations. She questioned 400 children and claimed almost all of them were victims of Satanic abuse — something that ought to set off alarm bells with rational people. MacFarlane had no therapeutic training, having studied fine art and social work [in college] but was not licensed as a social worker anywhere. She falsely asserted she was a psychotherapist and taught her [coercive, inappropriate, highly manipulative, and WIDELY criticized and discredited] “technique” to people with even less training than herself." -James Peron article, Medium.com (link below)
This woman clearly has/had very serious mental and emotional issues and seemed to have had a personal vendetta at the time of the trial. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she, herself, had been a victim of childhood sexual abuse and her actions during this trial were her way, in her twisted psyche, of hitting back at her abuser/s. In fact, I would bet on it.
Anyone who buys anything written by this quack of a woman is throwing money away on garbage.
