To be honest, Gladiator II is a pretty good movie but gets shadowed by the occasional references to the legendary Maximus. Sir Ridley Scott has woven his magic yet again with a familiar template, majestic battle scenes, and a satisfying sequel to it's much loved predecessor. The movie does boast of good performances but you do wonder if Paul Mescal was the absolute best choice for the role of Lucius. Go watch this spectacle in a theater near you - if you are a fan of gladiator you will still rate gladiator over gladiator 2
