I'm not really a CCM guy, so I certainly didn't expect to like this movie. The story was the type that could go very much one way or the other depending entirely on execution. It's the sort of concept where one wrong step and it's cringe city. But the execution was drop dead flawless. The heart... the HEART. The heart and soul they put into the movie was genuine through-and-through. I was frayed with raw emotion the whole way through this film. I sobbed and racked through every last iota of my feelings. It's the type of movie that can bring you down to the studs, rebuilding your concept of your entire life, and leave you soaring with triumph at the end. I can't recommend this movie enough. Everything from the acting to the complex details of the way the emotions were carried out through the pieces of the script was excellent. Even the sound mixing was completely immersive. The guys who made this need to go give the writers of the latest Marvel movies lessons on how human emotions work. What an incredible experience.

One of the greatest films ever made. With a tiny budget of $25 million Daniels managed to do something that was deeply impactful as an art form, visually stunning on an unprecedented level, futuristically prophetic, and rooted in deeper conversations about human existentialism and emotion than few movies have ever achieved before. Stunning, beautiful, and heartfelt. It rocketed to my Top 3 movies of all time, teetering up against Interstellar for the #1 slot.

Probably one of the best pieces of story ever captured, The Bear takes us through what makes humans human. Words can't do justice to what this show will make you feel. The more you have experienced as a human being—running a struggling business, starting something new, falling in love and wondering if it's just a distraction, going back to a broken home for Christmas—the more in The Bear will flay your core open and let you see what it is to be you, to be us, to be.
