Too easy a read if you catch my drift. Very little character development and the lack of depth was disappointing, considering all the 5 star reviews. I thought the premise of an interview held a lot of promise, but it was more of a one-sided poor retell of a person's life.
Unfortunately, Evelyn Hugo presents as the stereotypical fame-hungry celebrity who will do what it takes to make it. Nothing more. And while the plot could have had me laughing/crying/making deep connections to my personal life, I found myself feeling like I still don't really know any of the characters enough to care.
I should probably mention that I read this straight after finishing Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. So I basically went from a deep scuba dive through vast alien oceans...to dipping my toes in the kiddy pool.
