**SPOILERS** Just finished watching the first season, it was entertaining enough to keep me interested until the last episode but it wasn't what I expected. I am not familiar with the games or the books however went into the show with high expectations given the reviews. I kept seeing people comparing it to Game of Thrones and as a GOT fan I can say it's not all that similar apart from setting. I was disappointed in the mages, in particular Yennefer, as mages are meant to be really powerful however I found them to be quite weak in this show. I expected Yennefer to be really powerful (based on what I had heard) and was disappointed, there was only one time in the show where I was impressed by her power and that was during the final battle when she shot fire out of her hands. Other than that all she seemed to do was create portals and use telepathy. During the final battle when all the mages joined to fight I expected some great battle but they were all so weak, none of them could fight. Never the less, I might still watch season 2 if it doesn't take too long to come out.

Entertaining show, it can be quite corny at times but if you go in not expecting anything too serious it can be quite good, I personally like that it has a lot of comedy and amusing characters. Just started watching season 5 and so far it has been the best season yet.
